Didn'T Mean To Turn You On Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Didn'T Mean To Turn You On

there is nothing wrong with a little physical attraction
Keep your hands where I can see them, you gets no action
he rubbing on my booty, had to let him know
I walk towards the door and told him to go
Now I know you heard me, what I said before
Don't get mad when your advances go ignored
you will never understand I just wanted a friend
Someone to spend time with, drink, hang and party
that's not going to happen, you won't get this body
guess that's what happenes when you be nice
it's much different when you're cold as ice
the way he was looking, he was salivating
I didn't mean to turn you on
yeah, you have read me wrong
Now i'm suppose to feel guilty because of the image i provide
and accept the hateful comments that you have said in snide?

you shouldn't dress like that, think you should coverup
you have no self respect or you wouldn't have showed that much
Just because I don't live to your ideal image of how to dress
doesn't make me anything less, I bare my assets and yes
I'm aware what people say, It gives me a rise, have too much pride
to be in low spirits, looking for people to sympathize, if i cried
what you see is what you get and what you get, you have not got
all because you have been denied, you see I can be exposing alot
and still have class, what I wear doesn't define me or what i'm about
keep running your mouth
you ain't saying nothing, I have heard it all before
sex sells and you were sold onto the promise
what you seen before you gave you ideas
until I crushed your fantasies and made it clear
I won't go for that, no.
I have settled that, go...

The video playing in your mind isn't what you'd find
eventhough you would try as best to cross the line
you smelling good, you looking good, but, no, i'm good
If I wanted you, it obviously wouldn't be that hard
when you are lusting, you will let down your guards
I'm aware of the game and ain't nothing changed
Since my momma and daddy's generation
add to the list, another hit because you're a player
until you saw it was hard to score
another victory under your belt
there's plenty of fish in the sea
to hook, line and sink em
You will never get me
like how you will have them
what's ever happening in your mind I put to an end
this a battle that will not see you score the win
