Don’t Go Away Poem by David Harris

Don’t Go Away

Rating: 5.0

The autumn leaves drift pass my window,
the summer has died away,
and the frost will soon be here,
as winter is coming back.
So darling don’t leave me,
darling don’t go away.

The mornings are getting cooler,
with each new passing day.
I feel a little lonelier,
since you’ve said
you are going away.
Oh darling don’t leave me,
darling don’t go away.

Our summer romance,
our sprinkling of new love,
mustn’t ever, ever fade away.
I loved you yesterday;
I love you today and tomorrow.
I love you though it is cold outside.
so darling don’t leave me,
darling don’t go away.

How wonderful to have one love you so, they write a beauty begging you not to stay...Much more romatic than the 'Billy Joe and The Beaters' cassette, found in my car in the garage in Old Greenwich, on the day it ended..Don't know if it would have made a difference at that point. But this is one not many could walk away from..1982...thinking back, we we're living in Lake Forest, Ill, than...I call those years 'The Chicago Bear Years.' I have to figure out by dates where I was with all the dang corporate moves from coast to coast...Beautiful, again, David. mm.xo~~

I can almost hear this set to music, because it is a tender love poem.
