La Luna Poem by R K Summers

La Luna

Rating: 5.0

At night
At my window
I look out
The moon is a midnight sun
Beaming down, brighter than ever before
Brighter than I’ve ever seen
She’s frosty tonight
The clouds are a dragon,
Flickering his forked tongue across the diamond sky
The clouds are a ship
Tossed upon a stormy sea
Washed away by the wind
Across the face of my beautiful midnight sun
Waves, curling, pounding,
There, in the sky,
The second star to the right
The light of my midnight sun
Is an eye
A medallion in the sky
A coin of sallow
A lantern yellow
Pulsing like a firefly
Behind the shady smoke of clouds
A ghostly galleon
If only I could reach out and touch
