Out Of This World Poem by B. V. Dahlen

Out Of This World

The book I've chosen lately
To read while all encurled
Is best described by saying
That it's out of this world.

This author caught my fancy
When youth and I were one.
His wry imagination
I always found such fun.

While browsing in a thrift store
I found this noble tome.
I recognized the author's name.
On whim I brought it home,

And now I'm journeying again
Beyond the furthest star.
I'm meeting situations
And folks a bit bizarre.

A slice of youth is captured
Each time I sneak away
To futuristic journeys
After a hum drum day.

'The Past Through Tomorrow',
Which Robert Heinlein penned
Has made me wish adventure
Like youth would never end.
