In the morning when I wake up, you're the first thing I see
In the evening when I go to bed, you're the last thing I see
Your warm breath on my back is soothing
I feel the warmth run through me
Your eyes are big and brown
So sweet and so sad
Your hair is golden like the sun
So beautiful and silky
It's hard to imagine my life without you
Yet, that's how it used to be
And now I love you
As much as you love me
Loyal, friendly, for what more could I ask?
You jump up when you see me
And, boy do you wag that tail
Peaches,
You're a dog
Yet so much more
I love you
Now and forever more
People say that I need to get rid of you
But if I did, I'm not sure what I'd do
You're a sweetie
Real true and all heart
And I couldn't replace you
Or even be apart
Peaches
I know that you are more than a pet
A part of my real family
Someone to depend on
So now, I'll make it up to you.
Love,
Your owner and friend

Jessica, our pets come to mean as much as any family member, and when we no longer have them, we mourn. Good poem. I just recently lost my kitty Libby. Theodora Onken
