The Party’s Over Poem by Will Fiala

The Party’s Over

The Party’s Over

I’m here to say the party’s over
Knowing I won’t be back anymore
You may have seemed a four-leaf clover
For what I’ve witnessed’s a good hard-luck charm

I’m here to say these days are over
Saying good-bye will settle this score
We’ll never make it any closer
I won’t be taking incursions to harm

Inciting useless words
Trampling on our rule
Inviting my distain
While shipping me off as your fool

Slicing and dicing words
Patronizing fools
Exciting doubled minds
Professing me as old news

I’m here to say my patience over
I’m gonna find the one who’ll love me
And I’ll never own her
Unfettered nature’s truth it must be

I’m here to say the party’s over
I’m here to say the party’s over
It’s over
