The Story So Far Poem by OLUMIDE AYODELE

one sudden night
a star came and snatched my heart away
it was toyed with till it grew faint
tired my poor heart was smashed to pieces
each with a pregnant 'why' and a whispered 'how' written within

soon, each pieces began to bleed in between
the pain was so great
every night i die anew
the pain multiplied and became other pains
fencing other stars from being seen as stars

eventually, time gulped the whining 'why'
(though its simmering ashes sometimes snarls)
thereafter my 'how' and my 'then' gradually merged
and my weepy nothing started seeming content something.
