I really didn't want it
I swear I told him NO
No matter what I said
He wouldn't let me go
I had been friends with him
For so very long
But one night of ignorance
Now our friendships gone
He violated me
Made me feel ashame
After that night of misery
Things could never be the same
They told me I asked for it
Should of never went
I had been there many times
Never without consent
I tried to go to counseling
I tried to make things right
But no matter what I did
The harder I had to fight
If you know someone
Violated by a friend
Date rape's not a joke
We need to take a stand, fight and win
Happened over a month ago and still trying to define it: I made my verbal stance but if he disrespected it, does it mean rape? It is indeed tragic that it is so common.
Tragic and sad. Unfortunately it happens all too often these days. This poem is a good reminder to all of us to educate our daughters well. Shannon P.S. I hope the creep did some jail time.

I would like to translate this poem
A tragically rousing piece...woven in delicately sweet poetic turns laced with pain and rueful nostalgia. I'm positively struck by the very fact that you were posting poems on this platform, as many years ago as 2006. Kudos, doubtless talented Denise!
