someone waits
I do not know the who
but they will be there—that much I do know

There are pathways that we must travel
with uncertainties of what will happen next.

But we have been vagabonds for years

Somewhere a day begins
a child is born—another dies
and night slows down to slumber
...

How silent it seems to be
echoes running in the moonlight
stopped short by thoughts of "Evergreen"
to conceal the pain.
