Andrew Bell Poems

He opens the door
And says hello
Who are you
You're no one I know
...

You are safe and sound
Inside your world within mine
Nothing can hurt you
Where you are you'll be fine
...

Seems like the light faded
My world was shaded
I couldn't find my way
Lost in absolute misdirection
...

She plucked a star from the sky
and put it in a jar
The light from the star
won't be seen from afar
...

There's still sand peppered through my bed
And that scene running through my head
Of two lovers locked in sweet embrace
From beach towels to bed sheets
...

Say you love me
Say it now
Say we can fix this somehow
Please say it
...

Think again
Take a look
Use the pages
To judge the book
...

The Best Poem Of Andrew Bell

The Long Goodbye

He opens the door
And says hello
Who are you
You're no one I know
I say hi
My name is Ben
I'm your son
And I'm your friend
No you're not
He says to me
I've no kids
Or family
You're my father
And I'm your son
There's no one left
I'm the only one
He looks confused
Looks in shock
Are you alright
You want the Doc?
He says no
And lets me in
He seems to trust
This unknown kin
We sit and talk
Until we're done
Like old times
Father to son
Today like yesterday
The same old thing
And tomorrow again
I'll remind him
Of who he is
And what he's done
Of his life with me
And my Mum
But each time I come
And knock on his door
He seems further away
And fading more
I know one day
He won't be there
Free at last
Without a care
At least I'll know
Where he is
He's up there
With his Liz
But when I'm there
I'll ask God why
He chose for my Father
This long good bye.
