There is a Lord who loves little old me.
Even though sin resides deeply in I.
I am confused, I wonder how this can be
For my sins, Jesus decided to die.

I am an eagle, flying high
Among the clouds that dot the sky.
I am a bee, flying low
And gathering pollen to and fro.

You didn’t carry me for nine months
I wasn’t born from your womb,
But you love me and care for me;
Under your care I have bloomed.

Through tear-filled eyes, a soldier stares
At the smoke and wreckage that surrounds him.
In his heart, he wonders if anyone cares
About him and what he does.

A Sonnet Of A New Life

There is a Lord who loves little old me.
Even though sin resides deeply in I.
I am confused, I wonder how this can be
For my sins, Jesus decided to die.
Is there anything I can say or do
To get rid of this awful guilt inside?
I do not know how I can start anew
He died because I have cheated and lied.
Jesus tells me that He knows how I feel
That He understands all that's in my heart.
Lord, give me assurance that this is real
Can I have a completely brand-new start?
Now I am happy beyond my wildest dreams
My Savior is truly wonderful, it seems.
