My Real Mom Poem by Brittany Clark

My Real Mom

Rating: 5.0

You didn’t carry me for nine months
I wasn’t born from your womb,
But you love me and care for me;
Under your care I have bloomed.

No, I’m not a perfect child,
Yes, you’re an almost perfect mom.
And I’m glad you think I’m worth
Keeping around for so long.

I don’t think of myself as adopted-
You’re the only real mom I’ve known.
To me, there’s nothing better than
Being called your own.

We’ll be a family forever
Even through the ups and downs.
I’ve got to say that I think
You’re the best mom in town.
