Of Global warming and climate change we read of and hear
The changes in our natural environment gives us reason to fear
Of what does lay ahead for the children of today
We've brought climate change forward by centuries it does seem that way.

You cannot change the past 'tis gone forever
And worrying only turns your hair to gray
And remember 'tis the future's all that matter
For we cannot change what happened yesterday.

In climate change us humans will be the losers
Will humans live on Planet Earth in two hundred years from now?
Will birds and animals, fish and other life forms exist as we now know them?
Yet Nature herself will survive somehow.

After eleven years as Prime Minister it does seem quite strange
That John Howard the ageing politician is talking of climate change
But this after all is an Election year
And of losing the top job is now his greatest fear.

The weather is chilly yet with so little rain
And not one dropp of water in the roadside drain
The hills overlooking the river are green
Yet signs of climate change not hard to be seen

The farm dams low and the creeks are long dry
And no clouds of rain in the blue sunny sky
From the sun the cattle are sheltering in the shade of the trees
On a day in late Summer of thirty degrees

'Tis said that Bangladesh and Holland will be covered by the sea
And that climate change and global warming will cause World-wide poverty
Yet the advice of climate experts we do never seem to heed
Our disrespect for Mother Nature to our own demise may lead

The thoughts of changing the World I no longer entertain
The dreams I had of peace on Earth with me did not remain
For famines, wars and terrorism it does seem are with us forever more
I want to be a better person now just that and nothing more.

You may not change the World but you certainly can
Make it better to live in by becoming a better woman or man
The World better off without the arrogant and greedy and selfish and the judgmentally inclined
And far more in need of the compassionate and kind

No we cannot change what has happened we can only learn from the past
Though some lessons we've learned from living in our memories do not seem to last
Some of our mistakes we do keep repeating and for our every mistake we do pay
Some from the past never do learn and that does seem a sad thing to say

One person cannot change the World despite what some might say
But if to help people in need of helping you go out of your way
Without expecting any rewards for to win
Then you are helping to make the World a better World to live in
...

On Climate Change Government leaders Worldwide only seem to waffle on
And all hope of slowing it's onset now seem to have gone
Short term jobs at the expense of the Natural Environment is not a good idea
Human created pollution causing widespread extinction on land and in sea
...

A Climate Change sceptic his political party does lead
That is if you believe all you hear of and read
Supposed to be a talented and clever human being yet he cannot see
What to most others seem obvious as obvious as can be
...

The Worldwide human population has more than quadrupled since i was a boy
And these decades of affluence we well may enjoy
Yet due to pollution of land and of water and air
Signs of climate change are now seen everywhere
...

We cannot change the past that so happens to be true
But an apology should be given to those to whom it is due
And for wrongs of the past the Turkish Government to the Armenian people should apologize
But if that does come about then that would be a surprise.

On the dry creek bed stands a dead willow tree
The affects of climate change is a sad thing to see
Without sufficent moisture trees eventually die

Last week for a day it did rain rather heavily but a full day's rain was not nearly enough
The farmers their breeding sheep and cows are selling one can say that times on them are rather tough

Since the fundamentalists out there do their best to deny
Others of their beliefs those who to them think differently
Extremists of any sort seem dangerous to me.

Why bother wasting energy in trying to drag them down.

Will flood across the coastal lands creating millions of refugees

You complain about Climate Change but it is worthy of note
That on election day that for pro big business candidates you choose for to vote
You did have your chance to make a pro environmental statement and now you complain
Of a dry and brown countryside crying out for rain

Many in their communities does look on them as strange
But it is those who think differently to others who instigate change
Though they do not have followers there can be little doubt
That these are the people change for the better can bring about
...

Though many do look upon them as quite strange
The tribe-less individuals are the pioneers of change
For to follow leaders their kind never known
One can say of them they have minds of their own

In Climate Change many species of animals and birds getting rare
Within a decade many more species will be extinct of which we are aware
But that governments place environmentally damaging jobs before the natural environment seems puzzling indeed
As you cannot have good fruit if you do not plant the good seed

Financially embarrassed and tough times of you ahead
And sometimes you feel you would be better off dead
But the longest lived human life in time is a brief span
So hang on to life for as long as you can
...

Due to climate change and human destruction of their natural habitat many species of life forms becoming rare
Though the World is only for us humans to live in and with other creatures to share
That many species of wildlife are endangered of extinction seems a sad thing to say
And every day more trees for land development are being cut away
...

Since the government and bureaucracies they never question or on cast a doubt
Those who follow the leader change never bring about
By the majority they are looked on as radical and strange
But they are never followers those who strive for change
...

The Sun shining warm in the mostly blue sky
On the countryside looking so bare, brown and dry
So warm for March close to thirty degrees
And for Autumn few brown leaves as of yet on the deciduous trees
...

We cannot change the past what is done is done
And tomorrow will dawn but not for everyone
Yesterday just a memory of the forever gone
And we live in the now and life does go on
...

The weather is getting warmer by the year
And that Climate Change it is with us is quite obviously clear
For future generations when i am long dead
Some hard and poor times of them may be ahead

The Human World is full of Climate Change Deniers people on science who do not have a degree
People who know as little about climate as an ordinary person such as me
With the majority thinking of Environmental Scientists they do see fit to publicly disagree
Though of Climate Science they are quite ignorant as ignorant as ignorant can be

The power to change the World is in your mind
If you can live as a person good and kind
And from one in need of helping never turn away
The Human World better for you living in it does seem fair to say

In the bare lands of saltpans where the brown Murray flow
Where few creatures live and only saltbush grow
Where Australia's First people lived in the Dreamtime
Long before the first book was written and the birth of rhyme

The last few days have been quite wet it has made a lot of rain
And the migratory magpie geese back on Tower Hill lake again
Where water is abundant they always congregate
Birds known to be rare in Victoria though i have seen small flocks of them of late

And the Millstreet i was raised in is a memory of the past
The boys and girls i went to school with like me well past their prime
We all share one thing in common we do lose out to time

When I was younger the old bloke said to me
The Wannon in Winter was often bank high

Due to their lust for power the warnings of climate change some Governments ignore
Like 'tis said about much it keeps on wanting more
With our disrespect for our Natural Environment we will seal our own fate
Talks of cutbacks on carbon emissions thirty years too late
