Damian Fisher Poems

She was an artist, she was a saint
Someone who captured the world with paint
Looking past its myths and lies
Unveiling the beauty to virgin eyes
...

2.

I'm a loser, I'm a freak
In your shadow is where I sleep
I feel like such a disgrace
God dammit why do you choose to stay
...

Lay your head upon my chest
Allow your body to be at rest
And listen to my heartbeat sing and play for its its melody.
...

Let imperfection be a lesson,
To all of those who are adolescent.

For those who run and hide your face,
...

Cover your eyes or else you will see
What really lies inside of me
For all the smiles I can give
Could never hide my deadly sins
...

The devil's kiss, depression's bliss, a cut across the wrist
Euphoric high, I close my eyes, and one turns into six

The screams escape, I brace the rape, of a cold and haunting floor
...

When I fall into my dreams
I see a world I've never seen
I dance in rivers filled with tears
That wash away my deepest fears
...

Remember the spaces in your hand
When your alone that's where I am
Interlaced fingers locked so tight
Holding on with all my might
...

Love me, love me, say what you want
The words you speak are empty
Push me, push me, I have no choice
Like the sex you give me
...

The newly weds walk a lonely trail
For when they reach the end their love will fail
...

Lets compare the past and now
Do you see the difference do you see the frown
I wonder why and I wonder how
You can stare at me from within the clouds
...

A picture frame of frozen pain,
Set in stone to entertain
Eyes reflect the hurt I've kept that's anchored in my brain
...

I just want to let you know you mean the world to me,
Only a love as dear as yours would give so unselfishly.
All those memories that we made have never left my heart,
All those Friday adventures we had swinging life away in parks.
...

Luminous moon above my head, Bless me with the light you shed.

Break the darkness at my feet, reveal the path I must complete.

Almost Angel

She was an artist, she was a saint
Someone who captured the world with paint
Looking past its myths and lies
Unveiling the beauty to virgin eyes
Each stroke of her brush, so swift and keen
Leaving nothing untouched; a breathing dream
To thunderous rapids and vibrant meadows
And even the shades of the divergent shadows
Once blue fell to azure and white turned to grey
The twilight stained sky marked an end to the day
Despite the cosmic excursions, that awaited her steps
She remained in the presence of life's heavenly gift
The high-tide of night washed over the land
Littered with stars, like a luminous sand
She wanted to stay, but she knew she must leave
For she was enslaved, by a malevolent king
Tailed by a trail of softly wept tears
She traveled the roads until something appeared
The remnants of a village, deprived of its bliss
Which now home the lives of workers and kids
Under the shadow of power, and stricken with fear
The town lay perfectly still under this midnight clear
For when light touched sky, they sprang from their beds
To ensure that king would not cut off their heads
