Lisa Teres Fraser Poems

I am searching for the love I never had
A love which I deserve
And have been denied for too long
A father's love
...

We are so small in this world
But have the potential for greatness
We must take the gifts that are given
Nurture them so they may flourish
...

I should have known
It wasn't meant to be

I, the naive little girl
...

Trapped inside a foreign body
The images portrayed are not my own
But those of an inferior being
The force was overpowering
...

Two friends sat together
Thinking it was forever
Then one went away
And the other stayed
...

In my dreams you seem so clear
But when I wake you are not so near
The world feels empty during the day
Why can't you stay?
...

I tried not to submit
I tried to shelter myself from the pain
But you broke down my walls
I became the challenge
...

The voices inside my head are getting louder
Sometimes I scream just for the silence
The voices are feeding me doubts
My screams are now for fear
...

You were just another face
Another body
Whose heart wasn't mine.
...

To fight is a choice
A choice to remain ignorant
Is ignorance bliss?
Maybe for the child
...

Blinded by his misery
The path becomes over grown
Where beauty was once seen
Is clouded by the unknown
...

Have you ever been loved?
Feeling free while trapped in someone's arms
Feeling at peace even when arguing
Feeling joy through the tears
...

I fought you for so long
And did not know why
You always stood so strong
And I would turn a blind eye
...

Open your hearts
Become vunerable to one another
Accept all flaws
And forget perfection
...

I try to shelter you from my true self
In fear that you will run
What will you do
Once you have discovered what I truly am
...

I thought that I could forget your voice
I thought that was MY choice
Others have come
But the past cannot be undone
...

I don't love you
But the idea of you
I forget the bad
Then I wont get sad
...

You never thanked me
But I still said you're welcome

You never insulted me
...

Unaware of his beauty
He walks through life blind
Afraid to risk the adequate
And become an inspiration
...

Everyone knows she is a star
Yet she does not believe
To her it seems like a loosing battle
An impossible dream
...

A Father's Love

I am searching for the love I never had
A love which I deserve
And have been denied for too long
A father's love
A father's love, unconditional and neverending
A father's love, longed for by a child
Big or small the love never fades
But grows with each day
Regardless of past, present and future
Regardless of what we think is right or wrong
No one can replace a father's love
But a father
