The Star Poem by Lisa Teres Fraser

The Star

Everyone knows she is a star
Yet she does not believe
To her it seems like a loosing battle
An impossible dream
But then why is it in her head
Toying with her nonexistence
These thoughts will not let go
They capture her entire body and soul
Fear makes her stand still
Doubts creep in and crush her spirit
Monotony is the disease
And time is against time
With every passing day
Freedom seems further away
Routine has set in
But the dream still lives
It becomes her penance
Which will be carried until her faith is resurrected
Only then will the passion arise again
And allow her to live
Forever.
