Monday morning - Nine O'clock - coffee going cold
Just sitting here thinking about our plans for growing old.
We dreamed that we would travel more to places never seen
And take long walks along the beach & watch the waves roll in.

Sister keeps on trying everything she knows
To make the days all sunny; to calm the wind that blows
But Sister is misguided - thinking this is all there is
No one has ever told her that everything is His.

He can't speak like you and me
He can't make them understand
He pulls his wheelchair with his feet
He can't use his withered hand

Through the years her art has improved -
a sign of much practice.
Behind a closed and sometimes locked door,
she draws into the wee hours of the morning.

How I long to see my Father;
Jesus, His redeeming Son
And I'm thankful for the Spirit,
Who will safely guide me home
