Mehreen Mujeeb Poems
Look into your mirror And tell me what you see Is it really you? Or someone you cannot be
Poverty Doesn’t Laugh
Fill the rivers, With poverty’s tears, Only then will they be filled with innocent water. The brick that fills poverty’s throat
Bail My Feelings
My pen can’t write, Feelings on my paper. My heart and mind fight, To find words to display;
Why should we suffer? Why should we pay? Why should we do this everyday? We are tired of doing this everyday
A layer of tears coat my eyes To keep it from the cold When glaciers form They avalanche down.
I Need You
Truths and lies have now made me numb, Even tears of mine do not know why they rain. The truth hits me as it comes,
Behind The Picture And Its Frame
The fire in his eyes, The anger in his teeth; Is not real.
God ignites fire He ignites fire everywhere free The flames spread wild Planting flowers jading we.
Dew electrocutes the grass Not a day it forgets Water shatters like pieces of glass Slowly flowing into sunset.
She falls Like a mountain slipping from the sea She’s desolate Yet she believes.
Braille And Sign Language
Darker Night by night I still tip-toe in the rain.
Can people please stop driving cars; Screeching on striped, glossy roads. On mother earth’s bare skin we have made scars, By those rugged tyres that scorch.
Hard To Say Goodbye
Talking to myself I don’t know what to say I don’t know myself I don’t know anyone else.
Drowning In Thirst
My clouds keep getting heavier Please tell me if they’re clouds Or just mist floating by What lies in those clouds

Look into your mirror
And tell me what you see
Is it really you?
Or someone you cannot be
Don’t look at someone else’s mirror
And tell them who they should be
Looking in their mirror
Will not change what your mirror sees
When you look into your mirror
Are you sure you see yourself?
As you gaze into your eyes
Are you sure your eyes aren’t reflecting someone else?
It’s not the mirror’s fault,
That it reflects someone else
How do you expect a mirror to reflect you
If you don’t know who you are yourself
