A serious amount of time has passed since a verse had come to mind,
a mental blockage is all I have, and not a word seemed to rhyme.
No words of wisdom or anecdotes, the supply had completely gone,
I was starved of thoughts or ideas, not an inkling, nothing, none.

"Tell me mongoose why are you trying to steal my freshly laid eggs?
"Well, I've not eaten for weeks and I'm dying on my legs."
"Don't you realise that very soon these eggs will be my children? "
"But you have so many and you won't miss nine or ten."

I've known you for such a long time,
and yet I don't know you at all.
When I think you're about to open up,
you stop and shut the door.

Today I saw sadness pass my window;
wearing dark glasses to hide her reddened eyes.
Confetti was still in her jet-black hair.
Too upset to realise.

Bennie always sang in the bathtub,
his dream was to sing with a band.
At night he visited the bars and clubs,
as he travelled throughout the land.

you appeared to be depressed.
I could see you didn't want to be disturbed,
so, thought that you should be left.

Then took the fresh morning breeze,

but denying it would do no good.
