Like The Sun After The Rain Poem by Orlando Belo

Like The Sun After The Rain

I saw you sitting alone,
you appeared to be depressed.
I could see you didn't want to be disturbed,
so, thought that you should be left.

But then you went over to the jukebox
and selected music for the troubled mind.
Music about lost loves and the broken hearted,
the most tearful that you could find.

I could see you wipe the tears from your eyes
and sniffle into your handkerchief.
I thought that you could do with some consolation,
some kind words that would bring relief.

I'm sorry to disturb your sadness,
but I noticed that you were under some distress.
You selected my kind of music,
which I listen to when I'm under stress.

Music to cry along to for the deserted and scorned.
When you feel like a bird with a broken wing,
that has been swept far out to sea in a storm,
questioning your purpose and reasons for living.

I know only too well how you are feeling,
I am also recovering from a broken heart.
You will recover from this precipice moment
And I will help you from falling further apart?

Opening up about your heartache will help you,
and I will listen as you talk about your pain.
We can then cry together, and when the tears stop
Manage a smile, like the sun after the rain.
