095. War And Love Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

095. War And Love

Rating: 5.0

The whole world seemed to me
A place only for the enemy,
A place of jealousy, hatred and revenge,
A place filled with gunpowder
When a shell came to our tent
And three of my friends were blown to pieces
And I was severely injured.
I thought only of you, not of myself.

War is a butchery organized by warmongers.
The soldiers are just toys in their hands.
They are just hired armed men
Sold to the political leaders only for bread
For them and their family.

I was sent to my home
With bitter experience and broken heart.
My mind was torn like leaves
By the storm of reality.

Your unending Love
And tireless nursing
Have made me a man like Hero -
Not a coward defeated in the battle of life.
Now it seems to me -
Your Love is life saving medicine
And this world is a place like Heaven
Which is freed from jealousy, enmity and hatred.
