Sunlight and Flowers

By Uriah Lee Hamilton

Sometimes it feels
like I have been abandoned
for innumerable years
in scattered storms
and in desolate places
barren of soul.

But when I remember
your smiling lips
remaining with traces of laughter,
I can still find sunlight and flowers
strewn along the paths
destiny has left me to tread.

Sometimes there are people in our lives that we hold dear and keep us going long after they have gone. A lovely poem Uriah.
