2 Words Poem by Dior Graham

2 Words

I saw this look in his eyes.
Not sad, just empty.
He came, dressed, in purity.
So bland, so dark, so misleading.
It's only then I realised,
I love him.

He left, without warning.
Abandoning me, without hesitation.
Now I must go on,
With only the words of his that remain.
There were only 2.
Until... I saw him again.

Again I saw that look in his eyes.
Not lonely, just lost.
He smiles, in search, of closure.
So gone, so faithful, so wrong.
It's only then I realised,
I hate him.

He stuck around, this time.
Supporting me, with inspiration.
We went our separate ways, both of us,
Repeating only 2 words.
Until... I saw him again.

He still had that look in his eyes.
Not sullen, just forgotten.
Alone, in battle, with memories.
So dim, so deceitful, so warm.
It's only then I realised,
He loves me.

I couldn't stay however,
So I left, like him, leaving 2 words.
Not the same ones he left me,
As for I was a shamed of what I done.
My 2 words were 'I'm sorry'.

Unexpectedly I saw him again,
Still with that look in his eyes.
Not dead, just gone.
No longer, apart, of this world.
So close, so fast, so dull.
It's only then I realised,
He hates me.

I betrayed him like he did me.
I'm a hypocrite.
I knew I wouldn't see him again.
For I could see it in his eyes.
I figured it was time to return his 2 words.
'good bye'.
