249. His Three Marriage Choices Poem by Jaden Knight

249. His Three Marriage Choices

Rating: 5.0

So the three women stood before him
in a field of multicoloured plants
wearing dresses of various sorts
all trying to gain his favour
each vying for his attention

The first stepped forward in her long red dress
her blond hair plaited behind her
and offered him huge sums of money
to spend on his desires
he'd never be poor if he chose her

The second strode forward
her short red hair clashing with her short gold dress
she offered him power and influence
he'd always be able to win the fight she said
if he had her by his side

The third crept forward in her plain blue dress
her long dark hair surrounding her face
'I can not offer you money' said she
'Nor power of any kind'
I offer you my heart and love
and hope that that will be enough

And with that the young man smiled
and kissed the third one's hand
looked into her blue eyes and said
'Money I can earn by my own hand
and power can corrupt my very soul
but love is a gift that I can not deny
for this reason I choose you'

The other two marched off in anger
muttering various threats
he replied 'while I have love I have all I need
and that will do for the rest of my days'

They married a few days later
and lived happily until very old age
he never wondered what it would have been like
had he chosen one of the others

We each make our own decisions
every one with a different outcome
so put yourself in his place that day
and tell me what you would have chosen
