Here I am late at night,
Thinking of you once again.
I love the soft glowing light,
Hanging like a constant friend.
I see things you've never seen,
Like sparking blades of grass.
So many different shades of green
Wet my shoes as I pensively pass.
I shiver in the fleeting breeze,
Something you've yet to feel.
And weaving through a field of trees,
The cold wraps me from head to heel.
Moving forward, I breathe in deep,
I wonder when you'll take your first.
The world is tucked in, fast asleep
Waiting for sunlight's primary burst.
I wonder who will bid farewell
As you depart toward earth.
At 2: 36 I wander and dwell
On the moment of your birth.
