Fishes jumping catching fly
For stickles back kingfisher try
Water voles leave tiny wake
In the sunshine on the lake
Damsel’s green and blue go dancing
In the meadow foals are prancing
Rabbits with their pom-pom tails
Hop about among the snails
Windswept buttercups and daisy
Bow their heads appearing lazy
Cobwebs on the blades of grass
Spring a trap as bugs would pass
Underground a busy mole
Hunts for worm by digging hole
Blackbirds jumping sounds like rain
Well tricked worms come up again
Everywhere we look around
Wildlife’s living off the ground
Flying, swimming, crawling can
Living side by side with man

Gosh, now there's a memory from childhood, I remember collecting sticklebacks and minnows. Funny things they were. This is a lovely poem, I love anything with nature included in it. A delight to find. Thanks for the memory. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
