.5. I Do Poem by David Threadgold

.5. I Do

Rating: 5.0

I bared my soul to show my love
The day that we were wed
I listened to the vicars words
Repeating what he said

I remember saying with my body
I would worship you
I know I heard the same again
When you said you would too

I also said what’s mine is yours
And you said yours is mine
I heard the vicar’s statement
That objection’s would be fine

I looked at you and you at me
With love deep in my heart
I think I heard the vicar say
Until death do us part?

I still recall his final words
That life’s no easy ride
I always knew I’d like the last
When he said now kiss the bride
