A Bartering Of Ones Soul Poem by Ace Of Black Hearts

A Bartering Of Ones Soul

Rating: 5.0

A blood soaked teddy bear lies in the center of the room.
Yellow tape fastens its seal.
Chairs and furniture tossed and turned.
A fireplace with pictures and documents burned.
There is murder in the air.
And it haunts me like maddening dog after his old bone.
Ideas keep nagging at me.
Chasing after ghosts, but their not mine.
Not my dime.
Slowing down a cold tic tock of the clock.
Stuck in a moment, as a passerby.
Invitation all in my mind.
A dark room takes to raising the dead.
So it has been said.
Picture perfect.
Tell me have you solve it yet.
A child missing, evidence scattered as tassels upon this Christmas tree.
Will she be celebrated or mourned.
Will the judgement be swift and merciless.
For the soulless creature that did this.
No remorse in those dead eyes.
Ice for veins, is he even alive?
Is his heart beating, how could it be?
A monster in disguise.
Wish for a quick end to such memories so painful.
Not for me, but her.
Because every mocking word upon such a tradgey, brings attention to that which never be spoken.
Let there be what little peace there can be.
Let her rest her head and get the sleep she so desperately needs.
It will never be over.
Not when the victim was her daughter.
Something gets stuck in your throat, and no matter how much you drink it will not go down.
Sip after sip of water.
But the thirst has yet to be quenched.
Wishing for the torture you have endured to be reflected in the courts.
But it will never be, the system has no place for that kind of love.
Not if it has been broken or stolen.
We only punish the body not the mind.
So she does what she must, crossing the path with the devil on the way out.
With ice pick she stabs in a place not hard to find.
With arms behind her head, she watchs him bleed out.
Hes smiling all the while.
As if it was all he ever wanted.
Give me death, and the roses will do the rest.
I have no regret with what in motion I set.
Across the court room hallway you hear the echos of screams of help.
But it didn't matter because he knew they would be too late.
And she would serve his time.
Guilty of nothing but what any parent would given half a chance.
This is a dance plays out in a matter seconds.
And I'm not sure anything could have to prevent any of it.
Their fates and desires became one in that moment.
And to this day she still doesn't regret what she did.
She was satisfied with the possibility of lives saved.
There was no hatred, to her it was what needed to be done.
She felt no need to justify it with the world.
Sometimes it is best ignore what others think of you.
Soon the media focus would be gone.
No story here to be told.
The funny contraindication of this world.

Good poem. Revenge is sweet in the mouth of avenger bitter in court of public opinion. " She did what she did for Maria"
