A Christmas Poem. Poem by Miki Byrne

A Christmas Poem.

Rating: 4.8

I see the lights a-glitter.
I hear the choir in song.
Children gaze, sparkly-eyed
For Christmas won't be long.

There will stand the presents
Around the Christmas tree
And cards along the mantel piece
From friends and family.

Then I think of Jesus,
All in a stable born
And all the things he gave to us
On that first Christmas morn.

The hope, the love, the charity.
The kindness shown to all.
The depth of Christianity
Sprung from a babe so small.

So now at this new Christmas,
I send a wish for peace.
For harmony throughout the world,
That war and strife may cease.

An end to death from poverty
With children growing strong.
I place this wish in all my cards
And in my Christmas song.

So merry, merry Christmas
To every living soul.
If we can love each other
We can make this world whole.

This Christmas, let the Father grant these wishes to make the world a better place, a place worth living. Thanks for echoing the voice of over 6 billion people.

Very nice poem. Too many people say 'Happy Holidays' instead of 'Merry Christmas.'
