A Covid Christmas Poem by David Wood

A Covid Christmas

Rating: 5.0

Granny came for Christmas
She brought her little dog too
The first thing it did
Was crap on the floor
Which stuck to everyones shoe

Aunt Flora came with her husband
Wearing a large floral hat
He trod on the dog
Which cause it to yelp
That was the first Christmas spat

The twins fought over their presents
Now scattered all over the floor
They argued all day
Then started to cry
Then shoved them all in a draw

The turkey was stuffed by granny
And potatoes pealed the wife
All ready to cook
And time for a drink
With thoughts of a non Covid Life

Then granny lost her false teeth
Which caused her face to droop
She looked high and low
Nowhere to be seen
And later were found in the soup

They then sat round the tree
Despite it being old and well used
The dog had a wee
The cable now wet
Which caused the lights to be fused

Christmas then ended at eight
After drinking all of the beer
They said their goodbyes
With a hug and a kiss
Promising to do the same next year

What a wonderful and amazingly humorous Christmas story. Very entertaining. We hope and pray we will have a brighter Christmas next year free from Covid-19.

Grinning here! When I get depressed that I cannot spend Christmas with my loved ones, I shall whip this poem out and sigh in relief! ! ! Good humorous write, my friend! ! ! Top marks.
