A Darkly Gleaming Augury Poem by Ghost Unseen

A Darkly Gleaming Augury

A pale and ethereal dream sowing shimmer,
Do gleam and shine from your dark hair again.
Black silky strands woven altogether,
They braid a hazy augury in mane.
‘Tis a joyous yet wild promise of bliss,
Alas uncertain, but never amiss;

But by the time my strength will embolden,
My heart will sail swiftly to another;
For men’s hearts are ships easily blown,
By the careless wind of Lethe‘s winter.

Come forth before the doom, expose your worth,
Make haste and revive my soon consumed hearth,
Raise up your gentle face and do consent,
Let your hair dance and wave along the breeze,
From the fresh murmur of the mermaids ‘chant,
And unveil the hidden truth with bare ease.

For when my anchor will be safely cast,
Near the crystal creek and its coral coast;
Let’s leap and dive into the sea as one,
To live and die an unseen yet blithe run.
