A Day Without Light Poem by Manoj Kumar

A Day Without Light

Rating: 5.0

Wake up! says the sun
firing light on my face
so, I just stubbornly flip
to answer that sunny gaze.

Soon I dream of running late
and jump off from the bed
which gave me heavenly pleasure
during that drowsy state.

Admiring, that scenic view outside
I thank the power divine
to bless me with angelic nature
and the sun for its elegant shine.

Suddenly, a thought banged my head
what if the sun vanishes?
would these flowers retain the sheen!
would the leaves die, or forget to be green.

Would sky show that bluish glaze?
would rain ever drench the land?
everything seems so dark and dull
without that sunny blaze.

light is deadly precious
so I thank the almighty sun.
But that thought was really vicious
which left me damn stunned.
