A Death Of A Friend Poem by Palitha Ranatunge

A Death Of A Friend

You have gone, like a house
Was elegant and beautiful,
At a roadside, taken down
For road widening.
You are no more to be seen.

The signs you have carved in our hearts
Will always be with us giving an eternal
Torment in our loving hearts, until
The days of our departure, one by one...

Not all at once, giving all farewell
Forums, with fading flowers and tears,
May be another thirty or forty years
Will be sufficient to wipe us all...
