A Different Love Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

A Different Love

you think we'll kiss and makeup
but baby, you're too late
those rules do not apply here
and it's not up for debate
You're trying to tell me something
Why does it seem i've heard it all before?
I don't need your type of love,
I no longer want you anymore

You can stop calling, I got someone on the other line
and I don't want to hear it
This is someone who'll give me a love that age like wine
You've run out of options,
You come with a warning and i've taken caution

Won't be waiting, waiting, no
If you're looking for something that'll last
Look no further, you'll find it right here

I have been hurt some kind of bad
love is what I thought i've had
but see, i've lost it
Once I realized I wasn't a prize
within the eyes of the one I thought had any for me

I've been waiting, you've been waiting, yeah...
Seems the search is over
Cause there is no need to look
when what the heart desires
is right before our eyes
