A Dream Of The Deaf Poem by Christian Brown

A Dream Of The Deaf

Rating: 2.0

As i lay and dream
And think about various things
Politics
Junkies
Humans
Rabbits
Seemingly random things that aren't clear
As I dream a dream of a man with no ears
He can see very well but he cannot hear
His hair is long so no one knows
He can read lips but cannot hear the wind blow
Various opportunities...try to get his attention
But he cannot hear even though they mention
The name...in which he does not know
Like a stunted seed...that can no longer grow
Yet as I dream of this unfortunate man
It starts to tell me about who I am
That maybe I'm just like him yet I've only lost my ears
Maybe we're all that man and we live with fear
Because of the simple fact that we cannot hear
I hear there are more slaves the there was yesterday
I hear that people smoke poison consumed daily
I hear that others take pleasure from others pain
I hear the of corruptness and rigged campaigns
I have arms and legs yet I use them for nothing
But to wave around when I rant about something
I complain about this...
And I complain about that
Yet I do nothing for it...
I'm tired of doing zero
And I'd love to be, find, or create a hero
But...tomorrow ill stare at the tv and drink my water in sips
And watch the worlds demise..watch the apocalypse
I hear the chair creek
I hear the old man dying
I hear the angles weep...
I hear them crying
