Happiness Poem by Christian Brown

Happiness

Some kids get told it only gets harder by adults
When really it doesn't that's their fault
Maybe something happened couldn't make it through high school
If I were to put an adult down for that I'd be the fool
Or they didn't have the money didn't get a scholarship
I'd be a jerk to make them feel bad about not going to college
But even if you've been through a lot had hard times
You can't always be looking in front of you look in the corner of your eyes
Because if you are living sad that is because of you
How you reacted to things fell of the map took the shot way to soon
Situations may not be because of you but regardless
It depends on your attitude nonetheless
We are all smart people but it seems to be a trend
That when everything seems lost, think its the end
When it's not the end only just a start
take a look and see how big or small is your heart?
Big enough to give it all away or small enough to start a lynch
Either way our hearts can grow 3 sizes today just like the grinch
I can't sit here and act like I know what life is
But I've been through a lot learned to make the best of it
Stars we don't understand them but they have astounding beauty
Same with life yet, most of us treat ours with cruelty
Complaining going I hate, don't want, or this sucks
Then go and drink...get out of control and take drugs
What we all need to, is to find a fulfillment that always fills
You don't need more of it, like gas, money, or pills
If you aren't happy then do not let that be
Be firm be yourself and 110% free
It's okay to be sad but no longer then a day
Don't drown in sorrows things suck now, but it is okay
We all have a background and a story to tell
The kind of stories when we were going through hell
Stay focused busy and headstrong
Because you might sit and wait but life goes on
You might ask 'what in the world does this kid think he's talking about'
And well truth is I'm saying things that your sorrowed head blocked out
The ones you left back when you were a kid just like me
When you ran wild with your friends and you were happy
And your head might denie
And say 'it's a lie'
I'm confident that what I speak of is the truth
So refer back to what I said about Dr. Suess
It's never to late to be happy it's all in your head
You can stay happy from kid teen adult senior and on your death bed
And leave the world with a smile and leave with a farewell
And wait while everyone catches up oh the stories they'll tell
Life is a rose...it has it's thorn yet it's more of a beauty
And it if you have a great attitude it can be easy
Don't drool on the future and don't dwell in the past
Don't turn around don't look back
And certainly do not count your eggs before they hatch
It is much easier to live in this gift...this present
Give it all you got, give life your full attention
I would say be who you are but that's cliche
And I would have said be you wanna be but it's not what I have to say
What I got to say is live happy and strong just live the way you think is best
Teach everyone the true meaning, of living life to the fullest...
