A Father's Daughter Poem by Randy McClave

A Father's Daughter

He showed her how to be treated
And how in life she should always be greeted,
He showed her that love and respect is always two
She'll want a husband that will say, I will, and I do.
He opened the door for her when she was young
By the birds or the bees she won't be crapped on or stung,
One day though sadly to him she will be all grown
But, the teachings and belief in her will always be known.
She is a young girl just for a very short while
Then one day he will be walking her down the isle,
He did for her whatever and the best that he could or can
Then he'll give her away, to another man.
