A Field Of Flowers. Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

A Field Of Flowers.

Rating: 5.0

So here we are just you and me
At this quiet moment
You with an inconsolable tear
And me with no answers

We stand looking at each other
From each end of our distance
With this field of flowers between us
If I run to you recklessly
Flowers will be trampled
If you run to me bravely
You will vanish in the colour
And all we will have are our maybe's

So my old love stop don't run
Look long at the full colour
Smile for me from over there
Send me your love on the breeze

I will share your tear
But I will not run to you
I cannot mark this field of flowers
I have not that threat in me
Nature has planned it too well.

The world is sad and full of threat
People are doing things to people
That defies sanity
And invokes retribution

Somewhere in a hidden valley
Flowers grow unknown by anyone
Good thing this is hidden
From our snooping
Lest we know
What is best for them….
