A Fighter Poem by Alexander Foald

A Fighter

Rating: 4.5

I can say it’s been a long time going through my way
And anything seems odd and strange when I look back again
Over hundreds of nights, a thousand sounds of ticking clock
After so many thoughts I should have thought that you’re over me

But nothing to lose, nothing to compare and nothing can make it safe
Even though what I have now is not different than any look on your face
It’s a mourning day, a clap of two devil’s hands, a cursed bloody stake
And I’m here kneeling in front of my mother’s grave to seek for truth
So why is this weak-beating heart never stop wondering of you?

I can’t take the days that passing me by away from our pictures
I can’t make everything damaged to be seem unbroken
Well maybe I’m a fighter to see you with somebody else
But I’m not so strong to bear my pain all on my own..
