A Flagrant Hesitancy- Poem by Thomas Bates

A Flagrant Hesitancy-

a flagrant hesitancy -
uncommonly
feathered as such, thus fumbling,
a misunderstanding sinks deeply
into the marrow of bones;
driving home
a handful of sad, obscure
nails, while Jude wanders,
obstinate and weeping, his mind
a mind not entirely unlike mine,
kept under the simple enough title
of: 'almost forgotten, '
like my memories
lost (on a daisy chain) .

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
....just images joined together. it was the Fall, and the leaves had all changed color and had mostly fallen, and I felt inspired to throw together something that doesn't necessarily make sense but might end up colorful somehow. I'm also a fan of Thomas Hardy, and I'd read his novel JUDE THE OBCURE not long before.
