A Flickering Flame Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

A Flickering Flame

Rating: 4.3

Gloomy memories seem to linger
In the obscurity of the mind.
The discomfort is always present
As the time from birth to death intertwine.

Troublesome experiences are not forgotten
When they become a part of you,
Causing helplessness and hopelessness
When your dreams did not come true.

A sense of purpose and confidence is lost
When your aspirations never bloomed.
Never give up - dreams can be re-born,
If you firmly believe they can be resumed.

The flame of life may shine fitfully
Or become separated or overdue,
But it will not dim your utmost desires,
If it radiantly flickers in you.
