A Fool In Love Poem by Marlon Tan

A Fool In Love

Rating: 2.0

As this day has passed me by

I went through it without a smile

Knowing you weren't at my side

Knowing you weren't there for
the ride

I'm standing here all alone
The feeling of loneliness lingers
As the day is almost gone

The foolishness, of thinking about what cannot be
Memories I try to erase
As I stare
aimlessly at the open sea

As hopeless as a fool in love

I look at the stars shinning high above

The darkness of the night covers my sorrow

Hoping for a miracle so I can face
my tomorrow

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The first heartbreak I've ever experience. I was young and naive about love and this poem says it all. I wrote it when I was around 17, in Bournemouth, England. The words came to me so quickly while I was standing in the bus stop.
