A Forgotten Heart, A Regretful Pain Poem by Kellyn, A Grau

A Forgotten Heart, A Regretful Pain

So the ties have torn and you've become blind
Your hearts untrue to mine
Your lips so full of lust
Have you forgotten the sands of time
Have you forgotten all we've shared?
So do I dare reminisce with you?
On the days I held so close to my heart
Do I dare dream of you?
And the time I wish we spared
So I'll lock my self into the distance
Fair from you and ignore the agony
That laces its fingers in my heartstrings
It tugs and pulls with all its might
To tear me down, and make me bleed
So let me stand alone, blood soakes my chest
From the heart that once resided there
So you've become my poison
The wounds you've created are laced with darkness
How could you take away your light?
How could you walk out that broken door?
So I say goodbye again, and a tear falls from my eye
The liquid laced with a lover's turmoil
On the one she gave her soul to
Yet to be left on rejections doorsteps
Covered from head to toe in scars
Another time to brush the pain off
Start another day, alone here
Was I wrong for caring for you?
Was it wrong of me to give you my heart?
Only to have you blinded by your selfishness
Blinded by your own pain to see mine
Maybe I love a fool, but how do I react
I was taught to follow my heart
And it says to follow you to the ends of the earth
Maybe my heart is wrong
Clearly seen through fresh new wounds
Each time is see you, a new ones inflected
A new temptation placed before me
Yet I hold so much self-restraint and self-control
You have seen this, each time you try
To break me down all over again
Yet it tugs and tugs at my soul
To be the one you hold
To be the one you turn to
When the darkness claims your soul
To be you're guiding light and understand you
But I'm just nothing more, than a faded memory
You'll never comprehend my emotions
And you'll never understand who I am
