A Fragmented Or United Christ Poem by Royston Allen

A Fragmented Or United Christ

Forgive us dear Lord when the church withdraws
into denominations behind closed doors.
Presenting you as a fragmented Christ,
forgetting the reason for Your sacrifice.

Help us Lord to be as one at your side
and not allow our differences to divide.
By uniting, Your beauty is unfurled
portraying Your full splendour to the world

For in Jesus we can be beauty in diversity
when we meet in harmonious unity.
We may all be different and yet we are one
united as the living body of God's Son.

Oh that we might be one
like Father, Spirit and Son.
One body in Christ,
through His sacrifice.
Then the world will see
such Triune beauty;
complete and unmarred,
not broken and scarred.
