(In the past when we were young,
there were fiestas in Northern Philippines,
which had coronation rites: A poet chants
for the royal court, especially for the queen.
Such was an extinct cultural tradition.
This poem is a like a revival of such cultural practice
with some innovations, like the offering of flowers
by friends and wine toast of loved ones while
the recitation is being done. - Dr. Clarito De Francia)
Here's an occasion worthy of reflection:
For we've gathered here for one reason
You, the special person who bonds us in a celebration
Bringing dear friends and family - like a reunion
Full of fun dining, dancing, partying in unison.
It's another year to treasure and remember
Getting older, but smarter, better and wiser
Sharing handclasps and hugs to ponder
With various gifts from the store and jeweler.
But there's a tribute above all the others
For it has no price tag, no bounds, no measure
It comes within our hearts: It's us, your friends!
Rejoicing in person with you, the celebrant,
In a once-in-a-lifetime fun - grand and elegant!
With candlelight, balloons, cake, wine and songs
With blissings of love and blessings of God.
'We wish you wealth, good health
More happiness, in peace always
And many more successes
Let us celebrate: sing, dance and party
Blessed, happy, happy birthday! '
But most of all, here are the incomparable gifts of gifts:
Your beloved family to witness that you're the best
You're their inspiration, their light and life - their all!
Capture these moments in memory and in pictures
More celebrations, more reunions and more!
Claps, toast and cheers for you, our dearly beloved!
Live the longest and the happiest! Cheersssss! ! !
