A Happy Ending Poem by Joc Hum

A Happy Ending

My thoughts are running

The lights are stunning

I’m trapped in a dark and dreary place

The light is dimming

My time is slimming

As I look at the ticking clock face

As I crept closer to fear

I saw Meg look sincere

That moment I worried of nothing at all

Then at once I broke down

She grew a big frown

I wanted her, so I started to crawl

The man was transforming me

My Meg tried to stop him with plea

But she knew that that didn’t work

Then her face brightened with hope

For that, I knew I could now cope

Then she shouted, “I love you! ” with a quirk

The wicked man was over powered

Almost as if he were devoured

By something so sweet and so strong

It was love and I knew it

The feeling I could surely admit

That the power of love was flowing everywhere like a song.
