A Heartache Poem by Nicole J12

I cried for you tonight just thinking one memory of you,
And I want you to know that I miss you terribly.
It’s different around the holidays,
I have no one to visit, and no one to take care of.
I cried when you spoke of your death,
Though you never knew I did.
It has taken me so long to write this for you
Because my grief is still too near
But I wanted you to know that we all miss you so much.
Sundays are not the same without you here,
I miss our time together.
I know you are with me always,
But it hurts my heart knowing that I cannot hug you anymore.
You showed me love
And how to make the best malts.
I wish you were here
To see how well I’m doing in school.
You would have been so proud of how hard I am working.
And yet at the same time I’m glad you’re not here suffering.
I couldn’t bare it to see you like that and not be able to help you.
I miss you so much, and my heart breaks
When I think of the day we said good-bye;
A heartache that won’t leave for a very long time.
