A Homily Message Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

A Homily Message

Rating: 5.0

The intensely emotional minister preaches
That we are unpredictable and even blind,
And vehemently tells us in a weekly homily
That overly ambition and greed ruins humankind.

Be not selfish, and render assistance to the needy,
Especially your kinfolk, friends, and neighbors this day,
For those who have a destitute life to mend,
Or find their life to be in a precarious way.

May all your concerns and everything you do,
May every success or failure, each prayer you say
Reflect the gracious offerings given by you
In giving aid and comfort in a generous way.

For all who are physically and mentally impaired,
Mindful of their need, not only in words, but in deed,
Express your compassion and give - large or small.
Please share your bounty with those in dire need.
