A Lasting Reward Poem by Shelby Lanier

A Lasting Reward

Broken and shattered
And left all alone;
Waiting to be loved
And affection to be shown

But you come to me
With arms open wide,
Holding me close
And standing by my side

You give me your heart
And I’ll t reassure it as gold,
Finally feeling a precious gift
That was once foretold

You show me a life
With use two complete
No more tears or doubts
Neither Pride nor conceit

In your arms I shall stay,
And love you alone,
For it’s you and I
Who shall discover the unknown
