A Little Friend
I walked along the water's edge
And stopped to take a rest
Some pigeons scampered on the sand
A white one I liked best.
I threw a little scrap to her
She pecked at it with glee
Looking back as I walked on
Her eyes were watching me.
Today I walk along the sea
As I do every day
Two little eyes peek from a dune
And they are watching me.
